Yerevan State University was founded on May 16, 1919. Its faculties contain 110 departments.
nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;The University's library, with its ten divisions, is one of the largest libraries in Armenia. There are specialized reading rooms in a number of faculties with collections that are constantly enhanced by the further addition of academic and scholarly literature. To better serve readers an interlibrary loan system was created. There is a division for old and rare book dating from the beginning of the 17th century are kept.
nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;It's collection of approximately two million books. In 1989 the Library received an award as a first-rate scholarly library.
